One of the original Usenet Browsers Gets Even Better.
Back in the old days - a.k.a the 1990’s - the number one Usenet Provider was Easy News. In fact, they were the first Usenet Provider I ever used besides my isp. ( Remember when your isp gave you free usenet access with your dial up account:) Easynews was so good and consistent it was worth paying a few bucks to compliment the not so consistent isp usenet.
Back then, the average retention of a usenet provider was a whopping 30 days. Now easynews is up to 700 days! Wow. Almost 2 freakin’ years.
In addition to having great completion ratios, they also had a very active forum and a usenet browser. The only reason I ever left easy news was because I got a contract job at a large isp and had backbone access to usenet directly. Back when most people had dial up access to the internet, I had Ethernet access to usenet, muhahahahahaha… but I gloat.
Anyway, I recently tried Easynews again and they are still top notch, so give them a try. As I said earlier, they are up to 700 days of retention and they’ve recently rolled out a fantastic new Usenet Browser.
It’s like google for usenet.
The real usenet. You know what I’m talking about. ![]()
Why are you still here? - Go get some usenet!!! Easynews web-based Usenet browser
